Four People Shot at Howe Park – Unsanctioned Gathering Ends in Shooting





Saturday night, a large unauthorized party of a large crowd at Howe Community Park in Sacramento in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade neighborhood erupted in gunfire when between 20 and 25 shots echoed through the area as Sacramento County law enforcement were attempting to removing people from the park.

A Timeline of Events

Around 6:30 in the evening, the Sacramento County law enforcement was notified regarding individuals who may have been carrying concealed weapons at the park. Another caller reported a potential physical confrontation and people leaving the area quickly.

Law enforcement air support was called in and surveyed the area from above but could not find the reported fight.

Nonetheless, an estimated several hundred attendees had collected at the park for what the sheriff's office identified as an unauthorized event. Law enforcement personnel surrounded the park, activated emergency lights, and took about 15 minutes instructing attendees to vacate the area over loudspeakers.

The Injured
